• Timing belt replacement: Belt every 210,000 km. Much more reliable than the old EA111 chain tensioner. This is planned maintenance.
• ACT cylinder deactivation rattle (if equipped): Cars with ACT (Active Cylinder Management) may have a slight rattle when switching between 2 and 4 cylinders. Usually software update helps.
• Car is 15 years old — expect age-related wear: rubber seals, bushings, water pump, AC compressor
